We all get to that point in our lives where we finally get our dream job, attain a new talent or skill, or get the hang of a hobby. However, we find out that there’s still a long road ahead and we find ourselves craving more and wanting to do better.
Leaving the comfort zone can be a frightening and dreadful thing to do. The thought of settling into our own comfort will always be the easier option, but could seriously hinder us from growing in different aspects of our lives.
Here are 2 ways I slowly got out of my comfort zone:
Switch something up in your daily life
Start small by challenging yourself through your everyday life; Try a new recipe for dinner, wake up an hour earlier, or put on an outfit you really like but never had the confidence to wear.
By making these changes in your daily routine, you are helping yourself adjust to new things and taking your first steps of breaking out of your usual and comfortable routines.
Reassess your mindsets
Now that you’ve tried challenging yourself daily, it’s time to face your mindsets and fears.
Think of your goal and the things that are hindering you from getting there, and list them all down if you want. Once you go over everything, you’ll realise that a lot of things can be solved if you ask yourself honest questions.
Not enough resources and materials? What can I do to get a hold of these? Do I know someone that can help me? Am I making this a priority enough?
Once you’ve consulted yourself or a trusted person, you can start again and slowly start being proactive towards your goals with a new plan.
When it comes to stepping out of the comfort zone, it all boils down to sacrifice. If we really want it, sometimes, we have to give up a little something to keep these things around in our lives.
It may seem like we’re giving up instant contentment for the time being, but it will be worth it.
