Do you use any kind of application to help regulate utility costs for your HMOs and in the process, mitigate the costs for your tenants too?
As a user of Inspire Home Automation myself, I can attest to the benefits of using such a program to help manage energy usage and costs. However, I know that there are many other programs out there that people may be using to help them save money.
Hive is a popular option that allows users to control their heating, lighting, and other home appliances remotely via smartphone.
Time:o:stat is another program that is incredibly user-friendly and tamper-proof. With a time delay countdown timer, it manages temperature while adjusting the heating duration. This can significantly reduce heating costs while still enabling renters to control the temperature when they are at home, saving the landlord time and money.
Of course, there are many other programs and initiatives out there that can help people save money, and one of the best ways to find out what’s working for others is to ask around and see what people are using in their own homes. You can also do research online to find out about the latest energy-saving technologies and initiatives. This way, you can make an informed decision once you have weighed the facts.
As the government grant for energy-saving initiatives comes to an end, it’s important to remember that there are still many ways to save money on your utility bills and in the process, help your tenants too. Automating electricity conservation gives you and your tenants one less thing to worry about, and one less cost to stress over.
