The Importance of Property Network Meetings
You never know where one’s words can take you.
This weekend I just attended the PIN dinner which was an annual event. Being there made me realise what a difference a year can make. Last year, I just started doing the mastermind and knew only a few people in the property world. This year, I just couldn’t believe the multitude of people that I knew and met, and the quality of the network.
It is just overwhelming to see what difference a year can bring.
I am confident to say that it is very valuable to know the right people who can help you progress in your journey.
Networking won’t really work on the first, second, or third time. The people you meet and network with are to be nurtured and kept close because they can help you tremendously throughout your career, and you too can be of help to them. These things are like an investment in yourself and you have to keep at it to progress in your journey. Some may see it as a time-wasting task especially if the desired results are not yet manifesting (like closed deals) but believe me, it’s not.
Make the right connections and try to know the people who can help you in your career. Sometimes it’s just that one little thing a person may say in passing or something that a person can advise you that will make a big difference. It’s like an epiphany goes on in your head when you hear an idea someone says and it just makes sense. Don’t lose that opportunity; keep networking.
Networking is key.
There are different types of networking such as the annual dinner I went to but towards the end of the year, we will have a lot of events like the property awards. I highly recommend going to those as it can kickstart your own property journey. Yes, it is a celebration of what you learned and the things that transpired the whole year, but it is also an opportunity to make new connections.
You will never know where those connections will lead you. Sometimes, it won’t take you anywhere but a few years down the line, it just might open a new door for you.
It is also important that you invest in yourself. Keep up to date with the market, and always keep your mind open. Also, it is my suggestion that you never think that you know everything because when you start thinking that you know everything, that is when you stop learning. Listen to others, even when you don’t agree with what they say, never argue; listen to what is there to be said. Do not lose this opportunity to have some feedback.
Feedback is something that can make a difference because sometimes you might not be seeing what is holding you back.
